- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Making the Best of Winter. DESCRIPTION: Near Grenoble, the recent world championship for two-man bob race was contested by five nations. In Bavaria, they’ve been trying out a new sport called ski-bob, which is a race on a combination of ski and sled with handle-bars for steering. At the Ice Stadium, Garmisch, Canada beat Germany at Ice Hockey by 8 - 3, on the last day of the Winter Sports Week. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Elevated GV of snow covered mountains & countryside. At Grenoble, two-men at start of sleigh, rear person jumps on, sits down heavily. Various shots two-men bob-sleigh along course, also travelling shot on one of the sleighs. Various shots of sleighs travelling at speed. Finish of race & sleigh turns over. In Bavaria, various shots of persons on ski-bikes racing on course, various people racing, individually. Garmisch-Partenkirchen, players (ice hockey) into arena, bearing flags of various countries competing. Match between Canada & Germany. GV snow falling on rink. Attendants pushing snow off ice. Various shots of play. Canadians score a goal. Canada win 8-3.
