MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Funeral of Ceylon’s Prime Minister. DESCRIPTION: A new nation mourns its founder. Borne through the streets of Colombo in a funeral car built like a small Temple, the mortal remains of the late Mr Senanayake were taken to the place of cremation. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. House of the Senate, crowds in fore. Shots of coffin being placed in grandcivicy (carriage looking like a temple). Various shots of procession through streets, thousands lining route, throwing flower petals at coffin, etc. Dusk - arrival at Independence Square, coffin placed in pyre. Night shots of same burning.
