- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Rain Mars Manchester Test (3rd Test). DESCRIPTION: Rain caused the start of the Third Test Match at Old Trafford to be late, it caused long delays during the match and several times sent the players scurrying back to the Pavilion. After a bad start in which England took three Australian wickets for 48, Harvey and Hole stayed put to pile up the runs. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Crowds standing in rain. Shot of a rain cloud. Various shots of queues standing in rain. Inside ground, crowds. Selectors Brown, Yardley, Wyatt and Hutton inspecting wicket, cover still on. Hassett and Hutton in lounge suits inspect wicket.
