Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Soho Fair. DESCRIPTION: See you in Soho was the slogan, and thousands took the hint. They wanted to be there when the balloons went up (incidentally, near Movietone House), and they wanted to see this year’s Fair in London’s cosmopolitan square mile. Soho Fair has a bit of everything, to suit all tastes, ages and nationalities. There was a waiters’ race, a spaghetti-eating contest, and, of-course, the Beauty Contest! It was judged by Bob McNaught and Bob Goldstein, for the winner gets a film test, Marla Landi, Mr Charles Forge, and the Duke of Bedford. They selected 24-year-old Gale Sheridan as the winner, and the Duke of Bedford crowned the new Queen of Soho. SHOTLIST: GV of fair. TS crowds. LS balloons released.
