Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Wembley - England V Scotland. DESCRIPTION: A hundred thousand soccer fans - many of them Scotsmen with high hopes of victory. High spirits too, as Eric Caldow and Jimmy Armfield tossed up. Blue shirted Scotland kicked off, and very soon were demonstrating something of the real danger that lay ahead for England. After 6 minutes came the tragic collision which left Smith and Caldow flat out on the deck. Scotland’s fire and force had the crowd on its toes, and with their ten men gave full value for the record entrance money. SHOTLIST: Key scene. Scottish supporters with flags (2 shots).
