- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Make Way for Summer. DESCRIPTION: The Winter sporting centre of Val d’Isere in the French Alps - gives its name to the highest road in Europe. Nine thousand feet - it’s one of the last mountain passes to be opened up to the Summer traffic and they’re hard at work just now clearing the last of the snow, which lies up to thirty feet deep at the summit.
