Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Saracen Tournament of Knights. DESCRIPTION: Once a year, the picturesque town of Arezzo in Italy, goes Medieval, for the Joust of the Saracen Flags display the arms and colours of the important communities of the Province and then the Joust begins with the wooden "Saracen" as the target for the knights on horseback. The victors are the Knights of the Quarter of San Andrea. SHOTLIST: GV the town of Arezzo. MS band marching into square. MS men marching in with flags. MS people watching, pan round. GV square with man waving flags. At 529’ they throw them into the air. MS men waving flags. CU woman watching. MS men throwing flags into the air. MS two men with two flags each, which they bring together close to the ground to make another pair of men dive and roll over them. MS people watching. MS man with flag, which he throws into air. GV men throwing flags into the air with the model of the Saracen in the foreground. CU face on the model. MS model, pan to see the three wooden balls which are meant to hit the knights. MS men at arms with crossbows marching in. MS men at arms with lances marching in. MCU men in armour marching in. MS men with crossbows marching in, MS knight on horseback being lead in.
