Summary
British Pathe synopsis: Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire. L/S of a large, grand old house covered with ivy - Chalfont Park. A car covered with bathing belles drives towards the main entrance. The girls wave - they are wearing swimsuits. The car draws up in front of the house and the girls jump off and out of the car and run inside. Exterior of the house, the girls run along beside a river. "Everybody here makes hay while the sun shines." Girls sit on top of a hay cart whilst other girls use pitchforks to load more hay on top. "If you want to get that long slim silhouette try these exercises", says Santos Casani. The girls lay on their backs with their legs in the air whilst Santos instructs them in exercises. M/S of girls bottoms as they do cycling movements with their legs. The girls then lie on their stomachs and lift their legs in the air. M/S of the girls’ faces as they fling their legs up and down. "A year or two of those exercises, and you could almost qualify for this sort of strenuous job -" reads the intertitle. The girls lie on their backs and throw their legs in the air in unison. They then stand up, link arms and do some high kicks. "The sort of "keep cool" way we’d all like to try - " The girls paddle in the river Misbourne and splash each other. Lots of splashing ensues. L/S of some ornamental ponds with topiary trees - the Italian Gardens. By means of a dissolve, the girls suddenly appear posed around the ponds. Various shots of the girls posing. Slow motion footage of a woman running towards a man, jumping into the air and throwing her legs around his neck. The man turns around swinging the woman around in a circle as she hangs upside down. He swings her around he body then drops her Apache style.
