British Pathe synopsis: Isle of Wight. "Cowes - the great southern yachting and social event of the year, for King and Commoner." M/S of people sitting on and looking over a balustrade at yachts in the harbour. Travelling shot of boats. ""White-winged craft, and smiling faces - every mother’s son hauling with a will - " Various shots of men hauling on ropes, both sitting on deck and walking along deck. Shot from on one of the boats looking out at other yachts. "Races - on calm or ruffled waters, spread an atmosphere only found in this great Regatta. More shots of the boats, the crews, women sitting on deck enjoying the ride etc. "The Poet knew something when he wrote of "A wet sheet and a flowing sea, A wind that follows fast - " M/S of two large yachts at sea. Shot of crew raising the sails. "And fills the white and rustling sail, And bends the gallant mast!" Nice shot of crew on deck as another ship passes. Various shots of the yachts and crews. "And when the wind is kind every stitch is crowded on White wings they are in truth, graceful and beautiful." Crew raise a sail. Little boats accompany the yachts. - Keywords
