Summary
Babcock and Wilcox synopsis: Late in 1956 the Head Office organisation of Babcock & Wilcox, Ltd., with its staff of nearly 2,000, was moved from Babcock House, Farringdon Street, London and from other widely distributed buildings where it had been established for many years to a fine new "Babcock House" occupying a commanding site in the Euston Road. The movement across London, during a single weekend, of almost the entire paraphernalia of a large 8-storey building, so that work could re-commence normally on the Monday morning, was a major operation that called for cheerful cooperation as well as good organization, and in this item we glimpse the big "trek" in full swing.
