Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Budget. DESCRIPTION: Budget Day was overcast even before the budget itself were revealed; and the sky was weeping as if in sympathy with the people; there was quite a crowd, all the same, outside No 11, waiting to see the Chancellor. SHOTLIST: KS. CU currency - full screen. Crowds in Downing Street - raining. Several shots ditto. SCU door shows No 11. Cripps walks out with bag, poses for cameramen, holding up bag. SCU bag. GV Houses of Parliament with river in foreground, shot in rather rough weather - rainy - gives gloomy effect. Interior - publican’s wife hands pint of beer over counter & customer drinks same.
