Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: England Beat Scotland at Football. DESCRIPTION: At Hampden Park, Glasgow, Scotland played England and the result of the match was to determine who would win the International Championship. Also whether Scotland would go to Rio or not. England won by a single goal, scored by Bentley, and so become Champions while Scotland, unless they reverse their original decision, will not be at Rio for the World Cup. SHOTLIST: KS. Crowd shot. Several ditto. Various group types. Teams onto field led by England. Hector McNeil introduced to teams. Billy Wright (Captain) introduces England. Toss-up. Scotland kick off. Scotland attack, Williams kept very busy. Cowan goalie also being kept busy. Very good football. Crowds cheering - Hampden roar. England kick off - half time. Stan Mortensen scores, but it is off-side. England attack & Bentley scores the only goal for England. Crowds cheering. Scotland fight back hard, doing everything but scoring. Waddell shoots for Scotland but misses. World Cup Qualifying Match.
