MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Princess Elizabeth in Glasgow (Natural Sound Only). DESCRIPTION: Princess Elizabeth opens the Industrial Exhibition at Kelvin Hall, Glasgow, which is part of the Festival of Britain. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Crowds outside Kelvin Hall. SCU building showing Industrial Exhibition in words along outside of building. SCU crowds in street. Royal car pulls up. Princess Elizabeth with Sir Victor Warren walks into centre of road. Interior - Guests presented to Princess Elizabeth. Princess Elizabeth addresses the people. Talks about the wonders of the world, also how without mystery there would be no romance. Touring the exhibition after she had declared it open. Various shots of her admiring the exhibits, fountains, models of power station, engines - diesel, etc. Having part of coalmine explained to her. Walking along with Warren (Lord Provost), inside King George V Memorial Playing Field. She addresses crowds speaking about children playing in streets, how parks etc. keep them off the streets. Over her talking, shots of children playing in the park. Group of Princess Elizabeth & officials. Former walks round hospital (Cowglen) talking to patients.
