- COI synopsis: From dancing in London to dancing in Guatemala. In Chichicastenango, dancers depict the conquest of the town by Spanish invaders hundreds of years ago. But it is not only the dancers that catch the eye. It is also market day and goods and animals of every description are brought to the colourful market place for sale. On the steps in front of the church of Santo Tomas, the people burn incense and pray for a prosperous day.
