- Summary
- COI synopsis: Progress brings its own advantages and produces its own needs. Of these, perhaps the most important is education, and for this skilled teaching is essential. The BBC, British Council and the Ministry for Overseas Development formed a joint project to observe precisely teaching methods in different countries. The chosen subject was the teaching of English, because the need for this language in the modern world is so widespread. The results were filmed and demonstrate how different communities adapt to meet a pressing educational need. As an important part of the general picture, we show the successful methods used in various communities in Africa.
