- COI synopsis: It’s the plane that’s aroused more controversy and more excitement than almost any other plane in the history of aviation. 1976 sees Concorde flying us into a new supersonic age with the world’s first commercial supersonic flight. Gail Spiro visits Concorde before take-off and talks to pilot, John Cochran on what it’s like to fly Concorde 10 miles up at twice the speed of sound.
