- Summary
- Babcock and Wilcox synopsis: In another part of England the Castle Donington power station, with its six Babcock boilers, to steam six 100 MW generators, was also under construction; and the film takes us first of all to the Renfrew Works where a 90-ton drum for one of the boilers is being prepared for transport to site. A big haulage job this, involving a roundabout journey of over 400 miles to cover a distance "as the crow flies", of only 200 miles. When at last the drum reaches site, it has still to be hoisted over 120 feet into its final position, a job that is carried out with the quiet skill that comes of long experience.
