Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Bank Holiday Round Up. DESCRIPTION: At Brighton, holiday makers were luckier than some, for the sun did come out, although you’d have hardly called it August. At Blackpool the story was much the same. At Porthtowan Beach, near Newquay, members of the Surf Life Saving Association held their National Championships. From Cornwall to Cowes, where the Royal London Yacht Club had been holding its Regatta. Only small crowds were reported at many sporting events. At Crystal Palace the main event in the sports car meeting - The August Trophy, won by Keith Hall in a Lotus Climax. The scene at Harringay in North London, after a sudden cloudburst. SHOTLIST: Brighton - LS crowded beech. People seated in deck-chairs along the promenade and on the pier. TPS of children in the sea. Girl down helter skelter. Various shots of people sleeping in their deck-chairs. Slip pan to Blackpool - LS of the Blackpool Tower and packed beaches. Shot of the promenade. Shots of teenagers walking along.
