- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: White City Sports. DESCRIPTION: At White City the mile event was won by Ken Wood in 4 minutes 3.8. The 3,000 metres steeplechase was won by John Disley in 8 minutes 46.6. The three mile event marked another high spot, the focus was on Derek Ibbotson, who won the race in 13 minutes 28.2. On the second day, John Young, the youngest Three As Champion won the hundred yards in ten seconds. SHOTLIST: Crowds. Starter fires the starting pistol for the start of the mile event.
